After causing quite a flutter on the ramp and Indian television, Kulgam boy Danish Bhat is all set to make his Bollywood debut in the “Dunno Y 2” - a Bollywood-Hollywood collaboration film.
Danish, hailing from South Kashmir’s Shurat area of Kulgam district went to Mumbai in 2008 to perceive his career in modeling and acting at national level.
His ambition set in motion when he was assigned a national advertisement of Nokia mobiles in which Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan was performing lead role. Later on, other national brands like Mahindra, Reliance, City Bank, Samsung mobile followed the suit and assigned him in their advertisements which added to his footmark in modeling.
Television show, Amrit Manthan, in which he acted as king got famous all over India and showcased his looks. Many believe his performance in the soap attracted film producers to assign him for Dunno Y 2.
Shantunu Goel, a renowned fashion designer in Bollywood assigned him a lead model at the Lakme Fashion Week on August 23, 2013. Danish also remained lead model in Siyaram Suiting advertisements.
Danish said it is a well-known fact now that Kashmiris are blessed with natural talent. “The only thing we lack is exposure - to compete with other states.”
“No doubt we are good looking but we have to groom our talent and work hard to achieve what we dream,” the actor said.
Giving details about the upcoming film and his role Danish said: “I am acting in a lead role as Imran in the Dunno Y 2 opposite Pakistani actress Meera. The shooting locales are Oslo in Norwegian.”
“I would like to see many more faces from Kashmir to appear in the Bollywood as they have high potential,” Danish opined.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dunno Y 2 is a sequel to internationally acclaimed Dunno Y (Na Jaane Kyun) which was the first Bollywood-Hollywood collaboration film. The first part of the film won 9 international awards and is still getting screened at various prestigious film festivals worldwide.
Dunno Y 2 stars yesteryears’ Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman, Kapil Sharma, Yuvraaj Parashar and Norwegian actor Edith Roth Gjevjon. The film is directed by Indian director Sanjay Sharma and Norwegian director Tonje Gjevjon. The entire film is shot in Norway and its first look teaser is available online. (GNS)
