Ladakh film maker bags French award

Jungwa (The Broken Balance), a documentary film by a Ladakh film maker has got the Jury Award on the 29th Mountain International Film Festival held in Autrance, France.

Jungwa is documentary about the links between the environment, global warming and the Ladakhi way of Life made by Stanzin Dorjai Gya from Ladakh. Dorjai hails from a remote village called Gya 70Kms east of Leh.

Govt mulls school admission in Kashmiri

In an effort to promote Kashmiri, the state is contemplating to issue directives to all government and private schools to conduct the admission interviews of children in their mother tongue.

New FM station goes on air in Kashmir

In a yet another step of Radio Kashmir to 'enhance its reach and provide good source of entertainment to people' of Kashmir Valley, a new FM radio station was launched here Saturday by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.

Top school board official suspended for producing Doordarshan show

A senior school board official in Jammu and Kashmir was suspended after an inquiry indicted her of receiving ‘a business project' from government broadcaster Doordarshan as a private producer.
