People in several areas of Kashmir's historic Old City Friday took to streets protesting against the erratic supply of electricity, witnesses say.

Despite government’s assurances ensuring of power supply, people in most parts of the Old City are up in arms for its failure to fulfill its commitment.

They complained of the difficulties they face due to incessant power cuts and held protest demonstration at Safa Kadal and Sakidafar resulting in zero movement of traffic.

Protesters alleged that there is no scheduled power supply to their localities and authorities. They demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities towards the matter.
