Many years ago I was at Hong Kong to attend an event. Events are a social interaction spot and it was here one evening I had an encounter with this ‘western educated, affluent appearing’ Pakistani. I was busy with my two friends clicking pictures of the bus which had just fallen into a gorge on a narrow Surasyar-Chadoora road in central Kashmir's Budgam district. Children were having fun while watching a bus pulled by a blue coloured crane. Army was pleased by the appreciation of locals for reaching on the accident site earliest. It was a day of happiness as my cousin was to tie the nuptial knot.  Soon after the marriage ceremony culminated my cousin complained of headache and vomiting. We rushed her to the nearby SMHS (Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital) and after check up, doctors advised us to get her admitted and asked for some blood tests. It was shocking when the reports came.

An acute blood infection with only 3000 platelets and 0.8 WBC’S (white blood cells) left in her body. How can she be alive? Oh Allah...
