The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has reiterated its support to Kashmiris' “right to self determination (RSD),” spokesman of the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference said.
He said during the 38th conference of foreign ministers of OIC member countries in Kazakistan, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsan Oglu apprised the participants about the recent activities of a “special representative group” in Pakistani Administered Kashmir, Islamabad and Brussels.
“Oglu reaffirmed the OIC’s support to the genuine struggle of Kashmiris for right to self-determination and expressed hope that OIC members would help the Kashmiri people on every front for the achievement of their goals. The OIC’s contact group also pledged its support to the cause of Kashmiris,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said besides Hurriyat(M) executive leader, Aga Syed Hassan Al Moosavi, several “genuine” Kashmiri leaders, including Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan , Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl and Ghulam Mohammed Safi apprised the conference about the situation in Kashmir.
“Aga Syed Hassan raised the issue of human rights violations in Kashmir, particularly the unabated arbitrary arrests of Kashmiri youth, and stressed that finding a solution to Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of kashmiri people has become imperative,” the spokesman said.
