A complete shutdown was observed in this South Kashmir township on Wednesday to commemorate the 19th death anniversary of pro-freedom leader Mirwaiz Qazi Nisar Ahmad. The call for shutdown was given by Ummat-I-Islami.

Two top Jaish-e-Muhammad militants have been arrested by police from Srinagar- the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said on Wednesday.

Sources said that the militants, both residents of Pakistan were arrested by Special Operation Group of Police following specific information in Srinagar late Tuesday evening.
