Over two thousand students appeared for the National Eligebility Test at University of Kashmir today, an official said.

He said 2286 candidates out of 2786, who had enrolled, appeared in the test under various disciplines.

Inspite of the sub zero temperatures, 82% candidates appeared in the test which is much higher than the national average of around 70%.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad visited different centres along with Dean Academic Affairs, Dean Research and other officials and lauded the keen interest shown by the students who are appearing in large number in National level examinations.

He emphasized that this would go a long way in generating human resource for higher education and research at both State and National level.
