Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah was barred from leaving for New Delhi as he continued to remain under house arrest Tuesday, his party spokesperson said.
According to a spokesman, Shah was scheduled to meet Pakistani foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, in New Delhi today but couldn’t leave as “he continued to be placed under house arrest.”
“This undemocratic action is beyond our comprehension. If the Indian government can talk to the Pakistani Foreign Minister on Kashmir then why can’t a Kashmiri political leader like Shabir Shah do the same and present his point of view,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, in view of Shah’s house arrest, Democratic Freedom Party secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari today left for New Delhi to represent the party during the meeting with Khar.
