In a shocking incident, a minor boy on Thursday was attacked and seriously injured by a dog in Pattan area of North Kashmir while he was playing with children near his house.
Six-year-old Rameez Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Assadullah Bhat of village Wanigam Bala in Pattan was treading towards fellow children in order to play with them when stray dogs attacked him on the way, locals told Kashmir Dispatch.
Locals said the inhabitants came for rescue when they heard the screams and cries of the child, but till then the dogs had bitten him seriously.
His face was defamed by the time people came to help, the locals said.
He was rushed to a medical facility in Srinagar where his condition is said to be serious.
Pertinently, stray dogs in Srinagar's old city had chased a Omar Farooq, 10, a few months ago. Omar had jumped into the river and drowned.
Similarly a youth in south Kashmir's Pampore township was bitten by a rabid dog recently. The youth passed away at a medical facility in Srinagar.
