Curfew like restrictions continued on Saturday in south Kashmir's Pulwama district after nine persons were injured in firing by government forces on protesters following a gun battle that left two Lashker-e-Toiba militants dead and four army men, including two officers, injured on Friday.
All the injured received bullet injuries and were being treated at various hospitals in summer capital Srinagar, some 55 kms from the incident spot. The injured claimed that the forces' firing was unprovoked. However, the police say they had to fire after protesters, who had come on streets after two local Lashkar-e-Toiba ultras were killed in a gunfight, hurled stones at an ambulance carrying an injured army major. Government has ordered a probe into the incident. Dim lights Download Embed Embed this video on your site </p>
