The London bubble shootings describe itself as “the largest gay and lesbian location in Oslo”.
Police received several calls that the shooting had taken place at 1:14 a.m. local time, and arrived at the scene minutes later. Three minutes after they arrived, they arrested a male suspect, police said.
When they arrived there were injured people inside and outside the bar. “The scene was chaotic, it was a hot evening and a lot of people were outside, so people were running everywhere,” police told CNN.
The condition of 3 out of 8 people admitted to the hospital is critical. Another 14 people were slightly injured.
Police said the suspect was armed with two weapons at the time of the shooting. They did not confirm what weapons he used due to the pending investigation.
The suspect was taken to the police station. Police told CNN that there were no other suspects at the moment.
In a statement posted on Facebook after the shooting, the London pub condemned the incident as “absolutely nasty and pure evil”. The liquor store said all of its staff were safe and offered condolences to the victims and their families.
